Rooted and Established

This year has been a year of transition not only going from being a student at Westmont to being enrolled in grad school at UCSB, but also experiencing the transformation of becoming a teacher. I have been blessed with opportunities to see international teaching in Japan, study abroad in Israel/Jordan, explore God's work in Panama, and see the hope of the Gospel touch lives in South Africa. But as much as these experiences have stretched and changed me, I need to look to the present. Where am I and why does God have me here? Orienting myself to the purpose of my time in SB is an important step in developing a positive outlook on the routine of the everyday.

Currently, I am looking forward to the transition into student teaching at Peabody Charter School. Entering into a classroom for the first time brings a different kind of culture shock, and I expect I will explore a world of experiences and continue to widen my perspective of learning and connection. Though occasionally I may feel misplanted/out of place, I need to remember where my roots will forever lie. (Eph.3:16-18)
